Context/Style:

Champagne & Reefer is a blues style song, recorded in 1981. Muddy Waters was a leading figure in blues music, and is considered a founding father of Chicago style blues for electrifying the delta blues style. This Chicago style was unique for is smoother, more jazz-like sound, literally electrified through the use of the electric guitar, and characterized by the heart and soul sound of the harmonica-toting musicians that played it.
